Alma Lea "Bobbie" Barney Shoaf Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

MOCKSVILLE - Mrs. Alma Lea “Bobbie” Barney Shoaf, 87, of Rosewood Lane, died Thursday, July 1, 2021, at her home. She was born on October 9, 1933 in Davie County, to the late George Anderson and Mattie Hendrix Barney. Bobbie was a member of Cornatzer Baptist Church and loved her church very much. She had been employed with Hanes Knitting and also Winecoff Memorials. She was always a thrifty shopper, having taught her daughter the same. She was a very creative decorator and had the gift of writing poetry and was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Anderson ‘Bill” Shoaf; and siblings, Clara Barney, Paul Barney, Lucy Barney, Calvin Barney and Ava Barney. Survivors include two children, Berita Maynard (David) of Clemmons and Farren Shoaf of Mocksville; five grandchildren, Clayton Maynard (Rebecca), Nathan Maynard (Tabitha), Seth Maynard (Kristin), Ti Shoaf and Devon Shoaf; seven great-grandchildren, Clara Grace, Adeline, Audrianna, Jaxon, Gabby, Annasytn and Avonna Maynard; her sister, Ella Smith of Mocksville; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, July 5, at Cornatzer Baptist Church with Rev. David Maynard, Rev. Clayton Maynard and Rev. Johnny Nunley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
