Mildred Louise Privette Beck

April 28, 1941 - April 23, 2022

MOCKSVILLE – Mrs. Mildred Louise Privette Beck, 80, of Davie Academy Road, died Saturday, April 23, 2022, at her home. She was born on April 28, 1941, to the late Loyd Burit and Ora Lea Anderson Privette. Mildred loved serving the Lord and was very active at Community Baptist Church in Mocksville where she was a member and had served as treasurer of her Sunday school class. She had been employed with Hanes Hosiery, Fiber Industries, and the U.S. Postal Service. She had also been a school bus driver with Davie County Schools, a dietician with Davie County Hospital and had been an associate at Wal-Mart. She enjoyed quilting, camping, and riding motorcycles, and in her younger years, she was a very good softball player. Her latest and greatest passion was being outdoors and tending to her flowers. Mildred had so much love and compassion for her family, friends, and church family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, L.B. Privette, Lena Frances Privette and Effie Mae Privette. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Marshall Turner Beck, Jr.; three children, Tommy Thompson (Tracy), Samantha Beck (Shane Brown) and Dinah Lea Beck all of Mocksville; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy Thompson (Adria), Kayla McCrary (Tom), Anthony Simpson, Rachel Petropulos (Tom), Brandie Atkinson (Daniel), Casey Viers (Jennifer), Kellie Ussery (Arron), Drew Brown, Erica Beck (Darrell) and Jonathan Beck (Courtnie); 18 great-grandchildren; and special friend and beautician, Shirley West. A funeral service will be conducted at 12 p.m., Thursday, April 28, at Community Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Burchette officiating. Interment will follow in Johnson Family Cemetery in Wilkesboro. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, at Eaton Funeral Home. Memorials may be considered for the building fund of the new fellowship hall of Community Baptist Church, 612 Gladstone Road, Mocksville, NC 27028.
